Barcelona hosted the first ever Mayoral Forum on Migration, Mobility and Development on 19 June.

The forum brought together the mayors of 16 global cities, including EUROCITIES members Athens, Bilbao, Budapest, Cologne, Lisbon, Malaga, Milan and Paris.
At the event, mayors adopted the Barcelona Declaration, calling for global solutions to immigration challenges. The declaration highlights the fact that while cities are excluded from the governance that regulates migrant flows, the consequences of these decisions on social cohesion, development and integration have to be addressed directly at local level.
